Cabin Fever

13 Apr

Yeah. Cabin Fever.

Everytime I finish a book, this is me. I run out of things to do, and I’m so used to being inside, that the thought of even approaching my door seems daunting

and the car is getting an oil change, so I have no car.

I feel like I need an adventure! And not just any adventure, but Indiana Jones, James bond, go on a vacation, adventure.

But I don’t have my car.

So a walk around the neighborhood in the rain will have to do.

Knight Angels now Available on Kindle and Amazon. Barnes and Noble. And others to come… (nook, sony e-reader, iPad…)

What I’m Reading Now… ‘Fallen’. And my thoughts on ‘Hush, hush.’

3 Feb

Don’t forget to visit my new blog! Link Here!

Ol’righty… I finished Hush, hush just this morning. Loved it. I’ll admit, there were a few pages there where I was wondering where Patch went, but then he came back and it was all good from there. That was my one and only hang up in an otherwise flawless plot! (the font bugged me, though. It was the italics, they were hard to discern from the rest of the text)

I really loved the danger that was involved, and the edge. I liked the darkness of Patch, not to mention the force he often used. I liked the end, and I like the connection they now have… I like it, period.

What’s Next?

Well. This is a question easily answered. I have been told to read Fallen by many people now. I am moving on to it right away. This afternoon in fact (while I try to drown out the boredom of the daily elliptical)

Another angel story? Is that what it is? I guess I should read jackets…

Let’s face it, I’m shallow. I DO judge books by their cover (and wine) Oh well, right? They’re all good in the end, and they’re all positive steps forward in my continued education in the world of literacy and writing. Improving my skills, that’s all I want. What goes up, as far as my grammar goes, will continue to go UP!

Thank You!!!

1 Feb

I wanted to thank all my Feather readers for making this past December and January my best months yet!!! I am truly shocked, but also touched to have so many people out there becoming a part of my world 🙂 I am so excited with the job (I hardly see it as a job, it’s more like fun) I do everyday – so excited that people like you, also enjoy my work!

I promise many more GREAT stories to come, including my upcoming new series Knight Angels starting with book one: Book of Love, a teen romance sure to tickle your fancy, and disprove the cliché of most teen romances hitting the shelves these days. Something fresh, yet familiar, with no lack of all the things you came to love about the Feather Book Series

I’ve already finished the rough draft of the manuscript, and I’m sending it off to those that give me positive criticism and editing 😉 I expect to be ready to release it in March. After all, March is my birthday month!

Don’t forget that I’ve changed blogs, and I don’t want you to miss out!!!

Let the Countdown Begin!

31 Dec

Opening The Door on a New Year

I know what you’re thinking, you think I mean the countdown to New Years Eve, but nope, you are way wrong! Today starts the countdown to Book Three: Raven! In just weeks, Raven will hit the market, fewer if you’re a Kindler! I find it fitting it should start today, but why not? Feather: Book One was released in January one year ago, and now here we are, at the end of the series!

Once Raven is over, and the angels and demons of that book are put to rest, I will then release an all new series which I believe will be bigger and better! Knight Angels Series. While finding influence from The Hunger Games, Supernatural, and other great movies like Sherlock Holmes, I hope that this new series provides an array of exciting adventures, love stories, and of course tragedy!

With an expanded vocabulary, and a deeper understanding of what a makes up a great book, I believe they’ll just keep getting better!

In the new year, I hope to continue working toward my dreams of literary fame, and fun. I love helping people, and it has, and still will be my mission to reply to all those that ask for advice/or just plain say hi! So say hi!

Difference Between Daemon and Demon…

11 Dec

I’ve been doing some research for my upcoming book Knight Angels: Gifted, and I came across and interesting idea. The term Dæmon has been used before, and you may know it from the popular P. Pullman series and The Golden Compass. In his book, a Daemon is the small creature beside you, that is essentially your soul and personality.

In Knight Angels, I am going to use it as a term for the good angels, or Guardian Angels, and then Demon to denote the dark angels. Demon vs. Daemon.

Official Definitions: Provided by Wiki

Demon: In religion, folklore, and mythology a demon (or daemon,[1] daimon from Greek: δαίμων daimōn) is a supernatural being that is generally described as a malevolent spirit. A demon is frequently depicted as a force that may be conjured and insecurely controlled. The “good” demon in recent use is largely a literary device (e.g., Maxwell’s demon), though references to good demons can be found in the work of Plato as well as Hesiod and Shakespeare.[2] In common language, to “demonize” a person means to characterize or portray them as evil, or as a source of evil. In modern usage, “personal demons” refer to an individual’s tormenting fears.

Dæmon: The words daemon, dæmon, are Latinized spellings of the Greek δαίμων (daimôn),[1] used purposely today to distinguish the daemons of Ancient Greek religion, good or malevolent “supernatural beings between mortals and gods, such as inferior divinities and ghosts of dead heroes” (see Plato’s Symposium), from the Judeo-Christian usage demon, a malignant spirit that can seduce, afflict, or possess humans.

As you can see, they are essentially the same, but a Dæmon is sometimes used more often as a good being and character. I am going to be leaning to the good side of this. It’s just a way for me to differentiate the two brothers of the story in a way that keeps them “related”…

I’m so sick of being sick!

8 Dec

For the second time in the last two months, I am sick again. I think it’s another flu, but not near as bad as that first one! I still contest that it was the Swine Flu: the coughing, the everything, it had to have been. This one is more a head thing, except for the first day. Despite the sickness, I did still get around to doing my pilates today, and my elliptical.

I finally saw what one of those hampster toy things, that’s all the craze for Christmas, actually does. It’s crazy what kids go nuts for.

I made the yearly batch of Chex Mix today! I love it homemade, because then there are no brown bagle chips, and a lot less salt. I also don’t use the whole wheat chex, yuck. I just use pretzels, Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Mixed Nuts, and then after I BAKE it (Microwave? Really, come on, yuck) I add a bag of chocolate covered almonds. I love chocolate and salt, yeah!

Book Stuff

I got a little writing done today, but what I’m really excited for is Raven to come back from editor so that I can get it finalized and released for January! My writing is doing really well, and lately I’ve been inspired by that new show on the CW, Supernatural. I had been watching Vampire Diaries, but there are no new episodes, and quite frankly, it’s a little cheesy if you ask me, but still, I consider it research.

Good stuff.
