Cabin Fever

13 Apr

Yeah. Cabin Fever.

Everytime I finish a book, this is me. I run out of things to do, and I’m so used to being inside, that the thought of even approaching my door seems daunting

and the car is getting an oil change, so I have no car.

I feel like I need an adventure! And not just any adventure, but Indiana Jones, James bond, go on a vacation, adventure.

But I don’t have my car.

So a walk around the neighborhood in the rain will have to do.

I’m so sick of being sick!

8 Dec

For the second time in the last two months, I am sick again. I think it’s another flu, but not near as bad as that first one! I still contest that it was the Swine Flu: the coughing, the everything, it had to have been. This one is more a head thing, except for the first day. Despite the sickness, I did still get around to doing my pilates today, and my elliptical.

I finally saw what one of those hampster toy things, that’s all the craze for Christmas, actually does. It’s crazy what kids go nuts for.

I made the yearly batch of Chex Mix today! I love it homemade, because then there are no brown bagle chips, and a lot less salt. I also don’t use the whole wheat chex, yuck. I just use pretzels, Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Mixed Nuts, and then after I BAKE it (Microwave? Really, come on, yuck) I add a bag of chocolate covered almonds. I love chocolate and salt, yeah!

Book Stuff

I got a little writing done today, but what I’m really excited for is Raven to come back from editor so that I can get it finalized and released for January! My writing is doing really well, and lately I’ve been inspired by that new show on the CW, Supernatural. I had been watching Vampire Diaries, but there are no new episodes, and quite frankly, it’s a little cheesy if you ask me, but still, I consider it research.

Good stuff.

Another Great song that inspires…

17 Nov

My friend Anya reminded me of the song Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin after the post I did yesterday about their other song, Dance with the Devil, that has inspired the story behind the new book I am writing, the Knight Angel Series. She inspired me, in fact, to change the main characters name from Jules to Jane. This main Character, now Jane, has an obsession with death, and the past. Her father died in front of her in a car wreck, and for whatever reason, she survived, though she shouldn’t have. If you watch this video, it was exactly what I saw of her dreams and life, but at the time, I hadn’t even thought of it…

My NaNoWriMo Progress! November is National Writing Month!

4 Nov

So, this month I’m starting that new series, the Knight Angels Series! YAY! I am really cruising through this!

Words So Far: 7100 ish

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy. Angels. Shape Shifters. Dreamers

Setting: Post Apocalypse in a new world without dreaming or magic… until…

Level of Love For New Book: HUGE! This book is so fun to write so far, so fast paced! For all the Feather Fans out there, just wait till you get your paws on this! It will blow that outta the water!

Working Cover Art:

knights-cover-webI’m trying to go with a “Card” Theme. The queen of hearts, the King, etc etc. The cover will inevitably change (as I recieve your input!) So that is why it’s a “working cover”

Inside The Feather Book Series House!

31 Oct

Hey! So I decided, that with my dad being an architect and all, that I needed to draw out what this house of my dreams really looks like. This was hard! Some of the stuff I envisioned didn’t actually pan out the way I wanted it to when it came to drawing things, to many magical hidden rooms, he he. This is what I always saw, though, while writing, and now you can see it too! I wish my real house was like this, I also wish the house was secretly invisible in a field in the North Cascades, but we can’t all win, can we?

Eureka! The Flu is Gone! … and New Raven Cover…

25 Oct

I am excited to announce that the flu is nearly out the door for me. YAY! Celebrate with myself. I coughed at the pharmacist yesterday, non-stop, the whole time she was filling my prescription. People are freaking out with this Swine Flu thing and so was she, she was trying to get me out of there as soon as possible lol. Now I have to watch for pneumonia, oh goody. While I was sick I took the time to consider some of the cover suggestions and I’ve come up with a new image for the cover of Raven… Thanks in part to the suggestions of Denise Snow…

Raven_Door

My Brother, Chris, was the photographer for the door and the field, and I just simply combined the two, making an image of what was always in my mind when considering what Estella and Edgar’s house looked like. Now you see what I always saw! But, What do you think??

Another Rainy Day in WriterVille…

23 Oct

It’s raining rather profusely today and I am still battling the Flu. I shut all the windows and turned on a few lamps and lit some candles, so hopefully this will bring warmth back to my life. I slept on the couch last night because I was sniffling/coughing so much and I didn’t want to bother my husband, needless to say he was angry that I slept on the couch because I am the sick one. The Jazz channel is also playing, that’s always nice. I really wish I could have a whole bottle of wine and forget about the Flu, but that doesn’t seem very responsible…

I watched one of the most disturbing movies yesterday, it was called Blindness. Unless you are into scary epidemics, don’t see it, it will haunt you. I can’t stop thinking about it. It does have a good ending, though. I’ve watched a lot of random movies lately. It seems that in the afternoons they cater to the artistic stay-at-home crowd.

I really want to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs…

Book Covers

I made new covers for the Feather Book Series the other day and shared them with the members of the Fan Club. They gave me some great feedback, so I will likely be changing them from what you see below. I even had some Fans send me fonts they thought were neat LOL. It will be hard to add everyone’s suggestions, but I am going to try. A lot of the Fans that came back with comments to the questions I asked were actually QUITE helpful. I am sure you will see the product of your answers throughout the third book.

Editor Progress:

Christina is nearly done re-editing Feather, God love her for it! (She got to go to a private Bon Jovi Concert yesterday, boooooooo, we’re all jealous). Guardian I suspect will go faster because there will be fewer mistakes, and then Raven will rock out just as fast. Right now I am shooting for a December release of Raven, DECEMBER!!!!! By then it will be snowy (for some of us) and just the right season for reading.
